Playing the piano gives a single person the ability to create the sound of a whole orchestra. The capacity to play multiple voices at once sets it apart from the voice, wind, and string instruments. It is also incredibly accessible throughout our world. Pianos are not personal instruments, and the pianist will come across a piano to play in many homes and a host of venues. It is not surprising that it is the most commonly played instrument!

Understanding is the key to remembering.
I have come across so many people who tell me they took years of lessons as a kid, but don’t remember how to play.
It’s my mission to create life long pianists. Students who can continue to enjoy the piano in their adulthoods, years after they have stopped taking lessons.
And if you’re one of those adults who forgot – I can help you to get back into piano again and establish your adult musicianship this time around, too!
My teaching approach focuses on understanding the patterns in music, so that the notes on the page can come to life. We cover the standard music theory, but we also strive to go deeper into artistic analysis.
I help students take their playing to the next level, but I also make sure they have the skills to learn a piece on their own. My greatest achievement is when a student is no longer dependent on me!
Group Classes for Young Beginners (6-11 years old)
Young beginners benefit so much from the camaraderie of their peers.
Group classes are for 3-5 students at the same point in their studies. Group classes are 1 hour long and meet once a week. During group class, students get a chance to perform for each other and learn to explain and present the ideas they are studying.
Beginners in this age range (6-11 years old) are also given access to online practice resources to help them learn to use their practice time effectively. Parents can help by reminding students to practice and getting them set up with the course materials, but they do not need to supervise practice time.
Group classes are held over zoom.

Private Lessons for All Ages (6+)
Private lessons are available in 30, 45, and 60 minute lengths either in the studio or on zoom.
The benefit of private lessons is the independent pacing. It is necessary for intermediate and advanced students to take private lessons rather than group classes, because at this level each pianist has a custom program with their own individualized repertoire list.

Young beginners (6-11) receive a discount if they sign up for both private lessons and a group class.
